Our story

Little Fields is a small flower farm and floral design studio on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Founded in 2018, we use sustainable practices to grow cut flowers along the Chesapeake Bay. Our floral arrangements feature all farm-grown ingredients, plus mindfully foraged wildflowers and “weeds,” lending to a natural, seasonal, of-the-moment style. We aim to honor the magic of this landscape and celebrate its sense of place.

our philosophy

First and foremost, we are stewards of our land. In an effort to restore our soil and support local environment, we are committed to sustainable growing methods such as no-till farming, cover crops, and native perennial plantings that provide pollinator habitat. We do not use any manmade chemicals, such as pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides, nor do we use any preservatives in our floral arrangements. For weddings and events, we may supplement our offerings with flowers grown by other small, regional, sustainably minded farmers. This commitment helps us combat the ethical and environmental issues of the global floral industry, with more than 80 percent of flowers sold in the U.S. imported from overseas. It also ensures the freshest, highest quality, and longest lasting blooms for our customers. We believe in knowing your farmer, working with nature, and, with our community, building a better shore.
